Space Saving Not on a Budget

This little beauty is the 700 Storage Trolly Office Organizer by Helit for Porsche Design. For about $2,500 you have a smart modern organizer that will last over a lifetime. It's an office organizer but would be great in small apartments, don't you think? You can always expect the best in engineering from Porsche combining high end materials, engineering. I am sure when opening this beauty one can expect a fluid solid motion, like opening the door to a new 911.

Poolside 2

I am not usually a fan of over the top interior design however sometimes I see something so whimsical and inviting. This is one of the pool/spa's at the Vice Roy in Miami. It would be a wonderful spot to have a private pool party at, hopefully the acoustics would not be so horribly echoey. Just imagine the lights dimmed, the Krug flowing music, dancing into the wee hours...

Poolside 1

With the approach of summer for the Northern Hemisphere it's time to bring attention poolside. This layout is wonderfully modern and clean looking. My only concern is the black material getting very hot in direct sunlight.

Crystal Head Vodka

"what to put in a bottle with such meaning and iconology?" is what Dan Ackroyd says on the website of Crystal Head Vodka. That i sonly the tip of the iceberg, it gets really heavy for a vodka website. Referencing mystical crystal skulls that posses magic powers and have been found throughout history all over the globe and believed to be gifts from aliens, better just go to the website, its a lot to take in. Personally I think its really cool bottle and would probably continue to fill up with Kettle after unless crystal head had some sort of aphrodisiac powers as its name would imply... I found it at a local liquor store for $40 bucks.

Fresh Herbs

I am not a great cook, however with some simple fresh ingredients olive oil tofu anything is possible. I am also not great at growing things (would you believe I grew up on a farm?) and the idea of me having a house plant just seems cruel, to the plant. The desktop Hydroponic Garden seems like the perfect answer to provide fresh herbs year round. No dirt required and built in reservoir makes it fool proof, the whole thing is pretty automatic except adding water time to time. Mixed with fantastic design this would add some fantastic green to any kitchen.

Coffee (Process and Result)

As a design blog I want to share with you not only my love for coffee but for the process as well. If you are able to enjoy this method I recommend. Through chemistry and design the Chemix brewer delivers a perfect cup of coffee that is scientifically proven! The brewer itself costs around 30 bucks new, and looks great standing out.

Virgin America, Saving Air Travel in the US

Night Vision
Virgin America Airbus 320

Day Time Interior

This is obviously not breaking news, however I want to showcase excellent design that makes it into the real world. Virgin America has an excellent product and fortunately their beginning route network works perfectly for my travel between New York and California (JFK - SFO). I particularly LOVE the mood lighting and spacecraft themed interior. My favorite was the lounge music played in the bathrooms however on my last few flights that was missing so not sure if it has been dumped. My only gripe is the Airbus 320 Aircraft, its too bad they could not have been able to use a twin aisle jet, I just don't like to feel cramped....

average delay 6 seconds......

Beautifully designed, on time, and profitable, Japan's bullet train is something to aspire to here in the states, perhaps one day, it will be an option. In the mean time lets hope Virgin America expands its route network!

Samsung ML-1630W

Hands down Samsung has some of the best consumer end designed electronics that are actually affordable to the mainstream consumer. Case in point is this laser printer from Samsung. One could display this in a well appointed living room where it would blend in effortlessly into a modern surrounding. As well as it would not look out of place next to high end brands such as B&O and Nakamichi, but at around $200 it is extremely friendly to the budget conscious.

Box Wine Savior

While box wine may conjure up mostly unsavory thoughts I applaud any winery that engages its use. Reverly Vinterss from Washington State brings boutique style design and sophistication to the wine arena. The package keeps the wine from in perfect condition and is 1.5 liters for under $20.00 (about 2 bottles). One of the worst things when having a nice glass of wine is letting the rest turn if one doesn't finnish the entire bottle! Available for immediate purchase via their online store. I hope to see the market follow with more innovation like this! Will update with a review of the wine later!
