Denim Bag

I received an invitation to participate in the Junior League of Dallas Rock the Runway Event. They wanted me to "decorate" a tote bag... Instead of merely decorating a tote, I decided to build an entire new bag around it and turn the tote into a pocket inside the bag. The bag itself was reconstructed from a pair of jeans I had left over from my first production run a little over a year ago. Not pictured though is the great blue plaid shirt material used as the bag lining. I think the bag is going to be part of a silent auction, it better win....

Denim Dreams PT 2

I just received a link from Instinct Magazine, the second part of my interview is now online on their website. This includes the photo shoot I did with the current pieces I had available. It was a fun little impromptu shoot we did down in LES of Manhattan, totally renegade style! Anyone who has ever shot anything down in NYC it's basically permit city. The biggest problem we had was people standing around watching us, thinking we where some big important shoot. New York City is funny like that, you can get a huge crowd looking at a bug on a wall. Tourists are hilarious that way! So one more time big thanks to Brigitte and Matt for coming through and helping me execute the shoot! Check out the online feature at

Waterless Denim Washing

WWD reports on some amazing new advances of denim processing from Jeanologia a spanish company that designs industrial wash machines and wash process'. This new waterless washing unit the G2 uses only air to distress and fade jeans with no chemicals and without any water. An amazing advancement in denim processing and wonderful news for water conservation, especially for the California denim production community. Jeanologica who makes the machines also have laser units that fade and distress denim. Their examples on the website look really good. It would be great to see these machines break into the industry state side soon. Click the link for the full article. Check out the Jeanologica website to see all the amazing machines they have.

Denim Tops

Men.Style.Com did a great feature about new denim blazers from Prada. Textile mills can weave really amazing light material from denim that it looks like a super 100. Its paired great with some chinos. The most important part when pairing denim products is too never have denim on top and bottom. The knitted scarf adds some amazing texture. Work around a denim blazer or denim shirt to get a really well put together outfit. Be sure to watch this Denim blazer trend trickle down to the fast fashion stores and across other mass market stores much like the gradient dye garments Prada introduced last year.
